  • A completed first-cycle academic study programme in which the candidate completed course units in subjects that included 15 ECTS credits in chemistry and 15 ECTS credits in biochemistry, molecular biology or genetics; or
  • a completed professional higher education programme in which the candidate completed course units in subjects that included 15 ECTS credits in chemistry and 15 ECTS credits in biochemistry, molecular biology or genetics; or
  • a completed first-cycle academic study programme in another field, if prior to enrolment of the candidate has completed course units in subjects that include 15 ECTS credits in chemistry and 15 ECTS credits in biochemistry, molecular biology or genetics; or

The qualification holder will be able to:

  • apply knowledge, understanding and problem-solving in new or unfamiliar environments, in broader (multidisciplinary) environments connected with life sciences,
  • autonomously keep abreast of specialist literature in the field of life sciences,
  • integrate own knowledge and deal with complexity,
  • formulate an assessment on the basis of incomplete limited information, including reflection on ethical responsibility,
  • communicate conclusions, knowledge and arguments in a clear and unambiguous manner to specialist and non-specialist audiences,
  • adapt to new situations and make decisions,
  • pursue further education independently and autonomously.

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

In order to enrol in the second year, students must have completed 60 credits.

Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF level 10)

In order to complete the programme, students must complete course units in all subjects of the study programme in which they have enrolled and write and successfully defend a master's thesis.
