The qualification holder will be able to:

- analyse, synthesise and envisage solutions to agrarian economy issues,
- master fundamental scientific research methods, procedures and processes, develop critical and self-critical assessment,
- apply knowledge in practice,
- demonstrate autonomy in research work,
- develop communication skills, particularly in the international environment,
- demonstrate a capacity for ethical reflection and a commitment to professional ethics,
- demonstrate cooperativeness and work in a group (including in an international environment),

- demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the foundation(s) and history (development) of Agrarian economy,
- solve specific agrarian economy problems through the application of scientific methods and procedures (econometric modelling, multi-criteria decision-making methods, optimising and simulation, research on rural development),
- demonstrate coherent mastery of basic knowledge, integrate knowledge from various areas and apply Agrarian economy, Management in agriculture, Marketing in agriculture and rural development,
- place new information and interpretations in the context of Agrarian economy,
- understand the general structure of the fundamental discipline Agrarian economy and its links to sub-disciplines (Agricultural policy, Econometrics, Marketing management in agriculture) and related disciplines (Management in agriculture, Information technology, Rural development),
- understand and apply critical analysis methods and development theories, and apply them in solving specific agrarian economy problems,
- develop skills in the application of knowledge in the scientific and technical field of Agrarian economy.
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
Students progress to the second year if they have met all first-year requirements and completed at least 45 credits, and they must have passed the examinations of the winter semester.
Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF level 10)
Candidates complete their master’s studies when they complete all the envisaged 120 credits, meet all the study requirements and write and defend their master’s thesis.
