Qualification holders are qualified to:

  • apply basic professional knowledge in concrete circumstances,
  • critically analyse a problem,
  • anticipate solutions by transferring the experiences of others or by synthesising own solutions with regard to specific conditions,
  • critically assess new technologies and methods of valuation and determine the appropriateness of transferring them to the context of Slovenia,
  • participate actively in professional associations at the international level and in this way exert an organised influence on cultural heritage protection policy,

  • integrate and apply knowledge from various fields,
  • place new information and interpretations in the context of research,
  • understand and apply critical analysis methods and development of theories, and apply them in solving specific work problems,

  • use information and communications technology and systems in a specific research field.

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

In order to enrol in the second year of the doctoral programme, students must have completed at least 70% of the first-year course units. Before enrolling in the third year, students must have passed all first-year examinations and completed at least 50 ECTS credits from the second year.

In order to complete the doctoral programme, students must pass all examinations, complete all course units in all subjects of the curriculum, and successfully defend a doctoral dissertation, for a total of 180 credits.
