Admission requirements
  • Matura or
  • vocational matura; or
  • school-leaving examination (prior to 1 June 1995) under any four-year secondary school programme.

Prospective students who have completed secondary school but who do not meet the above conditions because the requirements for completing four-year secondary school at the time did not include a school-leaving examination, vocational matura or matura shall also be eligible for admission.

Prospective students who do not meet all of the above conditions but who show outstanding artistic talent shall also be eligible for admission.

The qualification holder will be able to:

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Progression to the second year is possible if the student has achieved a passing grade in Creative Drawing and Painting for the first year. Progression to the third year is possible if the student has achieved a passing grade in Creative Drawing and Painting for the second year and completed all first-year course units. Progression to the third year is possible if the student has achieved a passing grade in Creative Drawing and Painting for the third year, completed all second-year course units and passed all second-year examinations. 

Second-cycle master's study programmes (SQF level 8)

Students complete their studies when they have completed all course units prescribed by the programme, completed 240 credits and passed the diploma examination (prepared, presented and defended diploma works and a diploma thesis).
