The qualification holder will be able to:

  • demonstrate knowledge and competences in the disciplines and fields relating to public policies and public administration and its structure and operation (facilitated by knowledge of the functioning of the state, its structures and the processes of formulating public policies),
  • demonstrate knowledge of the environment of the chosen field or discipline and use methodological tools, i.e. knowledge and competences from the science itself, in particular from the point of view of the methods and techniques of research that is essential for the efficient and effective functioning of the public administration and the formulation of public policies,
  • carry out planning and evaluation and seek solutions to problems in the fields of public policies and public administration,
  • express themselves orally and in writing, make a public presentation and argue a point of view,
  • work as part of a team/group – work with others, show a cooperative spirit, fulfil roles in groups,

Students' knowledge is assessed by means of practical exercises and seminar papers, and also via products, projects, performances, services, etc. and by examinations. Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10). 

Students may enrol in the next year if by the end of the academic year they have completed all course units in the current year for a total of 60 credits.

Second-cycle master's study programmes (SQF level 8)

In order to complete the programme, students must complete all course units in all subjects from all years of the programme, complete a work placement and successfully defend a bachelor's thesis.
