Students' knowledge is assessed by means of practical classes and seminar papers, and also via products, projects, performances, services, etc. and by examinations. Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Enrolment in the second year requires the completion of study obligations and practical classes, as well as examinations in the amount of 45 out of a total of 60 credits. In order to advance to the second year, students must pass the following examinations: Mathematics, Botany, Domestic animal husbandry I, Pedology, Chemistry. Enrolment in the third year requires the accumulation of all 60 credits from the first year and 45 credits from the second year (total of 105 credits). In order to advance to the third year, students must pass the following examinations: Basics of plant production, Physiology and anatomy of domestic animals, Plant physiology, Biochemistry, Basics of animal nutrition, Organic farming.

Second-cycle master's study programmes (SQF level 8)

Students complete their studies when they have passed all the required examinations or have completed at least 180 credits, and have successfully defended their diploma thesis.
