The qualification holder will be able to:

  • demonstrate good familiarity with the basic laws of physics,
  • demonstrate familiarity with the most important fields of physics,
  • demonstrate general understanding of natural phenomena,
  • carry out mathematical modelling and resolution of physical problems,
  • demonstrate understanding of the physical background of measurement procedures and techniques,
  • use a computer to manage processes and quantitatively analyse problems,
  • demonstrate mastery of methods of measurement and statistical data processing,
  • work in a measurement laboratory,
  • analyse and present results,
  • demonstrate mastery of general technical knowledge,
  • demonstrate a capacity for abstraction and analysis of problems,
  • work professionally in a group,
  • use and keep abreast of literature in their field and online information,
  • demonstrate understanding of technological processes,
  • synthesise and critically assess solutions,
  • apply knowledge in practice,
  • communicate and impart specialised content to a specialist public.

Students' knowledge is assessed by means of practical exercises and seminar papers, and also via products, projects, performances, services, etc. and by examinations. Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10). 

Students may enrol in a higher year if by the end of the academic year they have met all enrolment requirements defined by the study programme.

Second-cycle master's study programmes (SQF level 8)

In order to complete the programme, students must complete all course units in all subjects in which they have enrolled, complete practical training and defend a report on it, for a total of 180 credits.
