The qualification holder  will be able to:

  • autonomously practise physiotherapy as a form of healthcare, assuming full responsibility on passing the professional examination,
  • assess and document the patient's functional status and ability, highlight problems and targets, select and dose appropriate physiotherapeutic procedures and verify and modify them if they are not effective,
  • give consideration to indications and contraindications and possible risks and harmful effects of physiotherapeutic methods and procedures,
  • take personal responsibility for own work, manage all necessary documentation and report on own work to the treating doctor,
  • in cooperation with the doctor and other members of the team, contribute through physiotherapeutic assessment procedures to a clearer diagnosis and prognosis,
  • critically analyse and assess physiotherapeutic procedures, assess the results of own work and monitor and contribute to the development of the profession through independent study and organised forms of further training,
  • report on new findings at professional meetings, in specialist and non-specialist publications and public media,
  • reject approaches that have an apparently similar approach to the human being but are professionally unfounded.

 

Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, the candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Students progress to the second year if they have accumulated at least 40 ECTS credits by completing first-year examinations, but these examinations must include: Anatomy with histology, Physics, Physiotherapy skills I, Functional anatomy, Healthcare. Students progress to the third year if they have completed all first-year examinations and have accumulated at least 40 ECTS credits by completing second-year examinations. Examinations in the following second-year subjects are compulsory: Physiology with pathophysiology, Physiotherapy II, Special topics in physiotherapy I, Physiotherapy skills II.

Second-cycle master's study programmes (SQF level 8)

Students complete their studies when they have met all prescribed requirements of the study programme.
