The qualification holder will be able to: 
(general competences)
  • understand the functioning of modern society and the global economic environment,
  • understand the wider ethical and moral framework of the business, economic and social environment, 
  • use professional terminology from the field of business studies and economics and the pertaining organisational, management, legal, IT, communication and technological disciplines,
  • demonstrate familiarity with and master the basics of research methods for the purposes of studying operations,
  • take responsibility for their own work and the work of groups in which they will collaborate or lead,
(subject-specific competences)
  • apply and merge knowledge from the fields of organisation, management, law, IT, communication, technology and ethics and understand social and political events through a knowledge of business and economic sciences,
  • understand the functioning and development of modern organisations,
  • gather and interpret data on business operations and the economic environment in modern society,
  • resolve the business problems of modern companies and other organisations, public and state institutions and services using the methods of business and economic analysis,
  • independently perform professional and managerial work in business practice.

Students' knowledge is assessed by means of practical exercises and seminar papers, and also via products, projects, performances, services, etc. and by examinations. Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Students may progress to the next year if by the end of the academic year they have completed all requirements defined by the study programme for progression to the next year.

Second-cycle master's study programmes (SQF level 8)

Students must meet all requirements defined by the study programme to complete their studies.
