The qualification holder will be able to:

  • demonstrate understanding of the global economic environment and the functioning of modern society,
  • use specialised terminology from the economics field,
  • apply knowledge of economic theory and analysis in practice in wider social contexts,
  • gather and interpret data on phenomena in modern society,
  • demonstrate familiarity with and proficiency in the use of the basics of research methods in order to study the consequences that economic phenomena have on modern society,
  • offer solutions or responses to developments in modern society,
  • demonstrate understanding of the wider ethical and moral framework of the economic and social environment and successfully offer responses to challenges or questions through cooperation and teamwork that remains within the context of economic and business ethics,
  • take responsibility for their own work or the work of groups in which they participate or which they lead,

  • demonstrate understanding of the development of economic science and its role as a motor of modern society,

Students' knowledge is assessed by means of practical exercises and seminar papers, and also via products, projects, performances, services, etc. and by examinations. Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10). 

Students may progress to the next year if by the end of the academic year they have completed all course units prescribed by the study programme for progression to the next year.

Second-cycle master's study programmes (SQF level 8)

In order to complete the programme, students must complete all course units prescribed by the study programme.
