  • vocational matura; or
  • school-leaving examination (prior to 1 June 1995) under any four-year secondary school programme.
Before enrolling in the programme, all candidates must pass a written and oral design aptitude test.

The qualification holder will be able to:

  • monitor and evaluate trends in the design of interior fittings, textiles and clothes, visual communications and the development of technologies and select the most suitable tools and technologies for the development of innovative and modern design trends,
  • plan and lead content-related and organisational work on projects involving interior fittings, textiles, clothes and visual communications, 
  • plan and design new prototypes and improvements of existing products,
  • plan and take into consideration all aspects of the production of final design products,
  • promote and sell own design services,
  • create and maintain a safe and efficient working environment,
  • select collaborators and conclude agreements with them.

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Students may progress to the next year if by the end of the academic year they have completed all requirements defined by the study programme for progression to the next year.

Second-cycle master's study programmes (SQF level 8)

To complete their studies, students must complete all course units prescribed by the study programme.
