Learning outcomes:
Candidates will be able to:
  • plan work in accordance with working documentation,
  • make a working drawing and prepare the furnace, machines, equipment and tools for forging,
  • forge elements, combine them into products, protect and install them,
  • purchase and store material and tools and sell products,
  • keep records of the manufacture and sale of products and keep working documentation,
  • manage the process of manufacture, protection and installation of a forged product and lead work,
  • supervise the forging process,
  • carry out work in accordance with standards, regulations and guild tradition, taking into account blacksmithing tradition and development trends,
  • repair and maintain forged products and tools and maintain blacksmithing machinery,
  • advise customers and cooperate with architects, designers (industrial designers, designers of one-off products, graphic designers), planners, restorers and other professionals,
  • perform work in such a way as not to endanger people or the environment,
  • conserve and develop cultural heritage.

Evaluator:

Verification and assessment are carried out by committees for the verification and validation of national vocational qualifications, appointed by the National Examination Centre (NEC). Committee members must be licensed by the National Examination Centre. Licences may be found here.

Assesment and completion:
VALIDATION
During the counselling process, the candidate prepares a portfolio. The relevant committee assesses the portfolio and validates catalogue content in part or full. If the committee is unable to recognise all catalogue content, it assigns tasks to the candidate for verification. 
VERIFICATION METHOD
Practical skills are verified in the selected assignment via the oral presentation of specialised theoretical knowledge about the product.

 

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

Candidates demonstrate attainment of the knowledge, skills and competences defined in the catalogue of standards of vocational knowledge and skills.

Awarding body:

Providers of procedures for identifying and validating national vocational qualifications are entered in a register of providers maintained in the relevant database of the National Reference Point for Occupational Qualifications. Providers include: vocational schools, companies, inter-company training centres, adult education centres, chambers of commerce, etc.
