Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: of results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5-1 (inadequate). In order to pass the examination, the candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Students may enrol in a higher year if by the end of the academic year they have met all requirements defined by the study programme for enrolment in a higher year.

Doctoral candidates must submit a doctoral thesis at the end of their studies.

This thesis must demonstrate that the candidate has mastered the field to which the thesis relates and methods of scholarly research. A doctoral thesis may also be the result of the work of several candidates or a research group; if so, the contributions of individual candidates must be clear.
